Trails at Kettle Morraine
Kettle Morraine State Forest, Walworth County, Wisconsin We're off to glorious Wisconsin to the mountain biking mecca of the Chicago area, Kettle Morraine. The John Muir trail has leg-burning climbs and harrowing descents amid a lush forest backdrop. Five different trails good for 21 miles cater to all ability levels. If the trail isn't climbing or descending, it might be zigzagging through rows and rows of pine trees. If you want to get in some mountain biking this summer but haven't had a chance, be sure to join us. Length of ride is about 3½
hours. Please be sure to bring a large water container. Drive from Chicago
is about 2 hours. To get there, head north on I-94 for about 55 miles
to Route 50. Exit heading west and drive about 25 miles to U.S. Highway
12. Turn north on 12 and stay on it about 13 miles til County Highway H.
Turn right at the General Store heading north, and drive about 2 miles
to the parking lot on your left. It's a big parking lot, so we'll meet
at the water fountain. Ride starts at 11:00. Wisconsin requires vehicle
stickers (daily $7) & trail passes (ind. daily $3). Rain
date is October 1.Please check the hotline before 8:00am in the event of
a cancellation.
